Guatemala, August 6-12, 2011

Tuesday
God’s mercies are new every day! What a beautiful day in Guatemala! Blue skies and sunshine… What a wonderful way to begin His day…listening to His word in these beautiful surroundings. Today, we divided into two groups. A group of 8 went to the construction site and the rest (15) set off for San Juan to work with the children at the Malnutrition Center. The construction crew poured the slab for the house that will be built tomorrow for a family. The “MNC” crew was busy at work loving on those babies. Today we had another field trip…taking 12 of the children to get their vaccinations…all 12 children, plus 7 team members loaded the bus for the clinic in San Juan. Domingo was very apprehensive about getting on the bus…he obviously remember his last bus ride to the clinic. After a couple of rounds of “the wheels on the bus” he calmed down and fell asleep…only to be awakened by his shot! Poor baby! Many of the children didn’t even cry or flinch when given the shot and only a few cried but only for a few seconds. These kids are so amazing! Stay tuned for more stories and pictures.
