Day Two: God is so Good!
Monday- Breakfast was at 6:45am as it will be all week. Following breakfast we had devotions along with our songs of worship – Greg and Melissa have been handling our music duty and that has been a tremendous blessing. It really adds to the worship.
The team arrived at the Center around 9 AM and the amazing day was off and running. Groups split in all areas of the center that covered from babies to 7 year old children. There are almost 80 kids at the center and we tried to love on everyone of them. The guys spent the morning working on the cement floor for the chicken coop – no one told us that we would be mixing every thing by hand (what a workout!) but we finished and it should provide a good foundation for the over 200 chickens that will supply eggs for the Center.
4:30 came and it was time to leave but they had to push us out the door as it does not take very long to become attached with all the beautiful children at the Center. Back to the hotel and a quick nap for many before dinner. After dinner we had our “Wow” time of sharing blessings and moments from the day. Some of the veterans commented on how far the center has progressed in the last 3 years since the Orphans Heart Ministry became involved –the staff, the facilities and the volunteers have all made a huge difference. Story after story of how the children captured our attention and love were shared. The relationships that are being built and strengthened within the volunteers is clearly evident. Many tears within the room as people shared. The good thing – we get to do it all over again tomorrow!
Talk with you then.
