We are off to a great start in Guatemala!
Our team this week is diverse, ages ranging from 10-75! We have elementary school students, college students, moms, dads, bankers, retirees, and a high school student all together ready to take serious the words of James 1:27 to "look after the orphans and the widows".
Today began with a wonderful little worship time with Cynthia Gunter (who has a beautiful voice, by the way) and a message from God's Word spoken by Mark Hale.
We went zip lining at the Philadelphia Coffee Plantation, where faith was really tested for some of the team! :) After shopping, were learned that today is "St. John the Baptist Day" here. We went to watch the processional of young people from a local school give honor to John the Baptist. Truly a great cross-cultural experience.
Tomorrow we get to travel to the Center. I have personally longed for this day since July 30, 2010, when I last left! I am so ready!
