March 19-25, 2011 Team Arrival

We all arrived to Guatemala safe and sound, including our baggage. Having arrived with some daylight remaining, we were able to see the sights of Guatemala City as we headed to our hotel in Antigua. We were all mesmerized by the city buses which are old school buses from America that were filled to the brim with people including those who were walking up the ladders to retrieve luggage while the bus was still in motion. We were greeted by a beautiful full moon over the volcanoes and arrived to our hotel in Antigua without much traffic. The intimate gardens of our hotel and the open courtyard were breathtaking. Soon we enjoyed an incredible dinner as a team. As some team members stayed back at the hotel to get settled, many of us took a short five block walk to McDonalds to enjoy some ice cream treats surrounded by a yet another breathtaking courtyard. It was unlike any McDonalds any of us had ever seen. We all soon returned to the hotel to settle into our intimate, cozy rooms for a night filled with sweet dreams, surrounded by God’s joy and peace for our safe arrival and anticipation in being able to serve Him in such a mighty way!
