Guatemala, Day 3, (December 29)

December 29, 2010
There are many new things that can be learned on a mission trip…especially one in a foreign country. Here are some of the things we have learned thus far:
You are never too young to eat chicken on the bone…as long as you spit out the bones before you drink from your bottle.
Lice can only jump down.
Flushing toilet paper is a luxury.
Women really ARE stronger than men…in many places around the world, they carry a bundle of sticks on their head while carrying a baby on their back.
MacDonalds is everywhere!
Jesus loves ALL the little children of the world.
Having a concrete floor is a luxury.
Brothers and sisters in Christ have an automatic bond.
Serving brings joy.
Washers are a luxury.
Pure tap water is a luxury.
$3.00 is not necessarily a lot to pay for gas.
The look in a child’s eyes can speak volumes.
You don’t have to be special to volunteer on a missions trip, just willing to step out of the box.
Never sit at the back of the bus in Guatemala. (without Dramamine)
