Day 1 at the Center

DAY 1 at the Center
It’s so exciting to be back in Guatemala with another dedicated group of people, committed to making a difference in the lives of children. We took our regular day of rest and relaxation on Sunday before beginning our work week. We enjoyed worshiping with our Guatemalan brothers and sisters in Antigua at the Iglesia del Camino. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a picture perfect day at the coffee plantation-- zip-lining and enjoying a delicious cup of coffee.
Today it was back to work at the Center—for this entire group for the very first time. The day started very early with Ron cooking breakfast for all the workers. He made bacon and cheese omelets and fresh biscuits! It was a treat for the entire staff! We just love honoring them and loving on them! They’re the true heroes of this work!
When the rest of the team arrived at the Center, everyone jumped in and found their place of service (but not until after we took the tour!). Our hearts were touched all throughout the day in unspeakable ways by the love of the staff for the children, and by the precious smiles, hugs, and songs of the children! God has blessed us more than we could have imagined by calling us to serve in this place!
God is at work in wonderful ways! Edwin and Wendy have their glasses! Gerson’s face is healing! Reinalda has gained 8 ounces! Edmer, Odilia, and Elias are ready to walk any day! Two new nurses are in place and providing great care to the children! The list continues tomorrow!
