Final Post for June 13-20 Mission trip

We all made it home safe from our trip to Guatemala. We are tired but excited for what we experienced and what we learned. The last day of our trip was adventure day as our entire team climbed the volcano Pacaya. It was a six hour journey climbing 3 miles and 4500 feet to the top of an active volcano. It was an amazing experience to be at the top of the world and see the beauty of the country below us and see the power of flowing lava and volcano activity beside us. Lee Langston's Wow moment of the day was seeing all the old folks make the entire climb and back down without needing a rescue team. That night we had dinner in Antigua at a very nice restaurant and reflected on our week and the experiences we all had. Our devotion for the day was led by Brent Geohagan. His summary question was - who benefited the most from this trip? The children we helped? The workers at the center? Or our team? We may have made a little difference in the lives of the people of Guatemala but we all believe the differences made in our lives in just 7 short days will be with us forever. Thanks Florida Baptists for allowing us to serve our God and the people of Guatemala.
