Events of the day!

Today was a very productive day, and we all worked very hard. The women started out in the nursery as usual, changing diapers and playing with the children. The men continued to work outside, painting the outside and constructing the soffits. Before lunch, the women watched over the older children, including picking them up, holding them, and pouring our affection on them. They love all of the attention we have to give. After lunch, everyone was either outside or inside, working on the center. We began installing electric in the kitchen, and the women painted trim around the windows and doors for several hours. The soffits will be completed tomorrow too. Perhaps the most precious moment of the day was when Juanita helped Joe spray the walls with yellow paint, and then was very content painting the walls with the brush. She was so eager to help and got great joy out of assisting us. It was a blessing that the rain has held off for three days (even though it's the rainy season) and did not start this afternoon until after we had finished painting. After a long day of hard work, we were all very hungry for dinner, which we had at Monoloco (The Crazy Monkey). We are all ready to get up early tomorrow and finish our jobs with our best effort. We've already seen so much progress made, especially the painting of the outside of the Malnutrition Center.
