Our team gathered at the Miami campus around 11:00 this morning and enjoyed a good time of fellowship with the children from the home around a delicious lunch prepared by our staff there. We headed to the airport, and thus began our journey to the beautiful country of Guatemala, where we pray that God will use us for the next week. The flight was smooth and our customs experience uneventful. We were met at the airport by our hosts, Mike Watson and Steve Otto, and drove an hour through the mountains to the beautiful 500-year old city of Antigua--the former political, financial and cultural center of all of Central America. The mountain driving was challenging, but we were in capable hands and arrived safely at our hotel, the Posada Dona Luisa, a quaint little hacienda with eight rooms and a lovely outdoor courtyard. We gathered in the courtyard for a brief time of orientation, and then enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by our hosts. We then shared a time of prayer, and have now retired for the night, getting rested for a new day.
Thank you for your prayers! We will post again tomorrow and will be able to share specific requests and tell you more about our work and activities.
Walking by faith,
Cynthia (for the team) :D
